As millions of Americans hunker down for the winter storm, 19 states and Washington, D.C., have declared states of emergency.

Weather forecasters in the New Jersey region are breathing a sigh of relief after the nasty snow and ice storm pelted our region with hefty amounts of snow and plenty of sleet on Sunday and early Monday. Partly because the storm is over, and they can finally get some rest.

Central New York and the Southern Tier are expecting 12-18 inches of snow, while Western New York and Tug Hill may see 8-14 inches of accumulation.
